Arguably we have entered a new era in Earth’s physical history; that of the Anthropocene or ‘ new man’ era in which human-kind has made a lasting physical impact on our planet by causing mass extinctions of plant and animal species, polluting the oceans and altering the atmosphere. Atomic testing has left traces of radiation in soils around the globe and we will likely leave a strata of fossilized plastic, from the very plastics I make my work from. The Industrial Revolution furthered us as a species but its the next revolution which might change our perspectives, as we are discovering that from Biomimicry to Neuroaesthetics and the theories of Creativity and Healing, that the very natural world we are destroying could hold the answers we need.This series is a disruptive return to nature as inspiration, in a series commissioned by Lewisham Health Trust.
