Drawing from life is still the most fundamental of tools for me. No matter what other work I am experimenting on I love nothing better than the spontaneous freedom a sharp pencil and grainy paper gives. And the way watercolour flows is just simply.....something I could look at all day....

In many countries the butterfly represents Soul, Mind and Emotion. The journey made by Psyche before she was gifted Goddess status of the soul, being turned to Butterfly speaks of a transition…..a metamorphosis. A metamorphosis still not understood in biology. The miracle of DNA blended into a soup to reform as a butterfly. Some species burn brightly but briefly. Every year, on November 2nd, in the mountains of Mexico, millions of monarch butterflies return to remote forest sanctuaries.
